Our Journey ~ How It All Began

Leanne`s Rusks, as we are known, started as a small family business, in a farm kitchen, in 2001. As we grew, bigger premises were needed. Our bakery is now situated in George, in the heart of the Garden Route.

We believe that a personal touch is key to our product`s success. We bake artisanal rusks, which are know for their excellent quality, stylish packaging, great taste and perfect crunch. We`ve expanded our range to include Traditional crunchies and are working on increasing our basket. We strive to support local suppliers when sourcing our ingredients. As a company, we are known for our reliable service and speedy delivery.

Leanne`s Rusks are distributed to private clients, guesthouses, coffee shop and retail outlets. Some of our customers include SSK store, Spars and Super Spars, New Harvest Stores, as well as many local stores. Although we distribute largely in the Southern Cape, we ship our rusk to stores across South Africa and supply hundreds of clients who order through our online store.

In 2015, Leanne`s Rusks change from being a sole proprietor and the company, Leanne`s Rusks (Pty) Ltd was registered. After many years of growth and building our brand, a decision was taken to expand our business further. In July 2022, we accepted an offer to merge with  Lumarco Food Distributors (Pty) Ltd, an FSSC22000 accredited company. This enable us to expand our range and better our serve our customers. Lumarco Food Distributors (Pty) Ltd is now the 'Home of` Leanne`s Rusks.
